INTERNATIONAL IMMIGRANTS FOUNDATION

  Why 10.org

Mission

The International Cultures Mission has been moving our global society toward greater unity by organizing special events and programs that promote positive inter-cultural relations in our communities. For over a quarter of a century, the ICM has provided opportunities for all cultural groups to interact with one another while preserving their own heritage. By promoting this kind of education about one another's customs we will rid our planet of ignorance, bias and racism, and more importantly eliminate the anti-immigrant sentiment that threatens our harmony and well-being.

History/Background

The International Immigrants Foundation and the International Cultures Mission (IIF/ICM) was founded in 1973 by Mr. Edward Juarez-Pagliocco.  IIF/ICM has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and is associated with the Department of Public Information as a charitable non-governmental, non-political, non-profit tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization.

IIF/ICM has been providing orientation and direct immigration, naturalization, and settlement counseling for the last 25 years to immigrants from every culture, race, religion and social status.

In the early 1980s IIF/ICM established the International Cultures Celebration, for the purpose of fostering positive inter-cultural relations in our society through fun events of inclusion.  The Celebration includes the Expo-Fest on Madison Avenue; the International Cultures Conference and the Star of Harmony Award at the United Nations; Passport to the World at various locations throughout New York City; and the International Cultures Parade.
