If you are in the process of legalization you should pay constant attention to the changes in the granting of residency cases, because it will determine what you should accomplish in the next 30 days.
Every month the Department of State of the United States reports who can obtain legality or permanent residents according to their priority date. The priority date is the day that the government received your residence application or your offer of employment. But, this date does not always advance. Many times it retrogresses or doesn’t move forward! For this month, many categories have advanced, so as a consequence, you should act immediately because it may slow down in the following months. The following priority dates represent the month, day, and year that the Department of State has designated to benefit during the month of August:
Unmarried Sons and Daughters of Citizens: 8/8/2001; for Mexicans, 1/1/1991.
Married Sons and Daughters of Citizens: 10/1/1999; for Mexicans, 2/8/1988.
Brothers and Sisters of Adult Citizens: 11/1/1996; for Mexicans, 2/1/1993.
Spouses and Children of Permanent Residents: 7/22/2002; for Mexicans, 11/1/2001.
Unmarried Sons and Daughters of Permanent Residents: 4/8/1998; for Mexicans, 3/8/1992.
Those who posses an approved job offer that requires more than two years of experience, only have until August 17th to act!
Immigrants who have begun an application up until the date I have mentioned before will be able to obtain legality or residency during the month of August. This means that, he could qualify to begin an adjustment of status, obtaining his final permanent legality, and his freedom to move freely in the country and employment authorization; or permanent residency. Don’t let this opportunity go by, as it can only benefit you within the next 30 days
Remember that there is always more to analyze before forming a legal strategy.
