Immigrant's Building
A Foundation for Everyone

The Immigrants Building is the scene of innumerable programs for immigrants. The international Immigrants foundation celebrating its 33 years,of Guiding, Legalizing, and Educating Immigrants since 1973, relocated to a better and bigger location.

New York. Since the Immigrants Building opened its doors in the heart of Manhattan, on 44th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, a great number of programs have been implemented for the immigrant community of the tri-state area.

The Immigrants Building, the new home of the International Immigrants Foundation, receives hundreds of foreigners each day, many of whom are on the road to legalization.  We also serve those who look to diversify their strategies to be able to reach the goals that brought them to the United Status.

“We are not only looking to help them legalize but also to guide them so that these people,

who had to leave their countries for various reasons, can establish their property and businesses in this nation of opportunities,” said Edward Juarez, founder and president of the International Immigrants Foundation.

Visitors to the International Immigrants Foundation are received by the staff of the Membership Department, who welcome them and invite them to become members of the organization for the benefits that we offer.  “When a person decides to become a member, he or she receives a series of benefits completely free and others at a nominal cost,” said Patricia Gonzalez, head of the department.
”One of our greatest benefits is representation in case of arrest, while the member remains detained by immigration,” added Gonzalez.  Among other benefits are unlimited counsel in any immigration case including residency, job offers, political asylum, residency for family members, suspension of deportation and any other basic residency application.

The Foundation is a not-for-profit institution, recognized as a consultative institution by the United Nations, and does not receive government funds.  The contributions it receives are dedicated to assisting immigrants so that they may have a better quality of life.

The third floor is also the site of programs like English classes at various levels, classes for citizenship, programs to establish good credit, seminars and conferences, classes on how to buy a home, how to establish your own business, how to open a bank account, and even on how to file your taxes.

Alter being attended in the third floor, the members are referred to a professional who helps them resolve their case.  They go to the legal department, found in the fifth floor, where they explain their case to the expert professionals.  The professionals listen to the store and determine the best legal strategy to use on the case, depending on the member’s immigration situation.

“I am convinced that those who work in this area of community service must be born with the calling, because it is not easy to receive people who have so many problems with immigration every day.  Here, we give them confidence and receive them with happiness and smile so that they feel at home and forget about the difficulties they are dealing with,” said Maria Cayetano, who has worked more than 10 years in the Foundation.

The experts of the International Professional Association work on the sixth floor, presided over by the immigration attorney Alfonso Ramos.  This association takes care of the processing and archiving of the thousands of cases of the members of the International Immigrants Foundation.
