Date: Second Sunday of June, 11 AM to 6 PM
Location: On Avenue of the Americas, between 42nd St
and 57th St.
Background: The International Cultures Festival is a
mini-world fair that showcases the industry, trade, cultures, and
arts of each participating nation and region from the US and the
other international nations. It draws crowds from all cultural
backgrounds. The variety of New York's participating groups makes
it unique. This event has always been a success because it features
over 600 exhibitors, several stages, over 100 international
cultures, folkloric presentations, music, arts and crafts,
souvenirs, food and beverages, like no other event in the City.
Anticipated Attendance: The estimated attendance for this
year’s event is of hundreds of thousands in a multicultural mix.
Demographics: This event draws a tremendous family crowd as
well as a large business and professional audience. The ethnic
mix is as diverse as New York City itself and specific areas are
created to target specific markets. The Expo-Fest offers an ideal
opportunity for corporate sponsors to partner with the Chambers of
Commerce VIP Meeting Room for special meetings and/or seminars
attended by their exclusive membership.
Capsule Description: This Festival opens the "International
Cultures Celebration". At the Expo-Fest, organizations may have a
full City Block that can be attractively set up to portray a vivid
miniature reproduction of daily life of a certain culture. Each
exhibitor is encouraged to use creativity to generate cultural
ambience. Visitors to a national block pavilion will experience
those facets of life of a particular country that are typical of the
nation’s customs, folklore, history, traditions and cultural
heritage (e.g. houses, architecture, national customs, singing,
dancing, crafts, demonstrations of cottage industries like weaving
or pottery making, etc).
