Hello. My name is Edward Juarez- President of the International Immigrant Foundation. Today I will analyze the labor market and its effect on the immigrant community
We live in a society with 302 million people, but that depends on only 50% of the population. The United States of America is maintained by contribution only. 153 millions of citizens, permanent residents, and immigrants with format work permits form the labor market. With an actual inflation of 1.93 percent; an unemployment rate of 4.7 % and an increase of labor by more than 100,000 of monthly employees. Considering all of this, motivated by the high cost of labor, all of the businesses have concentrated on maintaining maximum productivity with the least number of employees to show gain for their investors.
In July 93,000 new jobs were created; in August 89,000 and in September more than 110,000; all with higher salaries. These statistics show a growth in the economy, in almost all areas of service, where generally immigrants work. But it is an interesting result that the millions of undocumented immigrants who live in our country don’t form part of these studies and statistics because they are not considered as part of the labor market.
What does this analysis indicate? That half of the national population increases, the necessities of the population increase, and by consequence, the number of employees to serve the nation increases. From all of this increase in the next few years, thousands of citizens will stop working because they have reached the age of retirement. This result takes us to the realization that, more immigrants’ work is required. Therefore, if you have not begun you residency through a work offer because you are waiting for an opportune time; don’t let more time pass. If your application presents you as a professional with ample experience, then you have a great possibility of obtaining an approval in less than one year.
Remember that there is always more to analyze before forming a legal strategy.
