Africa is one of the five major continents of the world with 53 of its nations in the United Nations. As historic home of the African American and Caribbean Community, the continent has diverse culture, ethnicity and languages. It is endowed with physical and natural resources, but its economic growth has, since the post-colonial era, been beset by political strife and natural drought.
