The Dominican Republic, located on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola, not only has tropical agriculture but has developed tourism and industry too. Its culture is Hispanic. In fact, this was the first Spanish colony in the New World, a country Columbus loved and where his remains are buried in Santo Domingo's 16th century cathedral.
