Croatia is a newly independent European country located on the Adriatic coast. Its own national history dates back to the 7^th century. As a famous tourist destination, Croatia is well known for its blue Adriatic Sea, and as the country of 1100 island and 101 Dalmations. The Internationally known word "cravate" is derived from a description of a necktie worn by Croats who fought in the French army in the 17^th century. This year the Croatian soccer team won Third Place at the World Cup in France.
