Can an immigrant obtain residence without experience? Many believe that there are a number of these workers in the country in positions that any other person could fulfill. Therefore, we analyze who completes these tasks and we consider the opportunities that immigrants in these positions have to obtain residency.
1st) The American workforce is composed of citizens, permanent residents, and immigrants who are authorized to work.
2nd) We consider the percentages of unemployment and the composition of the workforce. The percentage of unemployment continues at 4.5%, which is quite low! 30% of North American employees work in the service industry and 70% work in business jobs. Therefore, the majority of the unemployed are people who work in administrative positions.
3ro) To present a job offer before the Department of Labor, one must demonstrate that there are no North American workers available, qualified, and willing to fill the position, even if the position requires no previous experience. At this time, the majority of unemployed persons are those in white collar positions who refuse to take jobs of a lesser standing, and this reality facilitates the certification of job offers for immigrants.
There are many positions that do not require experience, but ‘Are’ approved and qualify for obtaining residence. During the month of July, those who possess an offer approved for a position that requires more that two years of experience will qualify to obtain legality if they began the process before the first of August of 2002; or if they are Mexican citizens, before the 15th of May of 2001.
If ones occupation does not require experience then the process is delayed for approximately six years. If you have not begun the process for a job offer, don’t wait any longer!
