Job Offer: What You Should Do This Week!
By Edward Juarez, President | Immigrant’s Voice

 July 25th, 2006

Thousands of correctly submitted job offers, intended to obtain approval and residency for the immigrant concerned, have been incorrectly closed by the Department of Labor.  This error has left these immigrants wishing to legalize but with great uncertainty over their futures.

The Department of Labor established Backlog Elimination Centers with the mission of reducing the processing time for offers submitted through normal channels and through Reduction in Recruitment before March of 2005.  These centers have been sending a letter to the employer and to the legal representative, giving the employer 45 days to confirm that they want to continue with the case.  However, thousands of employers and their legal representatives never received this letter, and their offers were closed.  Many other cases were also closed due to other errors.

The Department of Labor has recognized their errors and has designated a period of time and a process to correct it.  The time is now!  If you have received an unjust denial of your case, you should contact your legal representative urgently. Only a legal representative or your employer can investigate the status of your offer and expedite its processing over the internet, immediately.

Once the Department of Labor has confirmed their error, you should present a motion before the 11th of August.  As you know, these proceedings take time to revise and prepare.  You do not have much time to correct the status of your offer.  Act immediately, and do not lose your chance with this case that would guarantee your legalization and permanent residency very soon.

Remember that there is always much more to analyze before formulating a legal strategy.
