Many immigrants, without thinking, continue to submit themselves to the illusion of a lifetime wait for lack of knowledge or due to the faulty advice of legal professionals who have not carefully analyzed the Department of State report. This analysis has been carefully prepared to determine the real wait time for immigrant petitions. There are no typological errors! We have compared the residency grants from this month with those from October of 2000 to establish the actual wait time.
Spouses, minor children, and parents of citizens have only administrative delays. Single and adult children of citizens waiting time (1): has increased 67 days since October of 2005, with waiting times of more than 20 years. If they are of Mexican nationality, the wait has not increased by even one day since 2,000, with a wait period of more than 100 years.
Children of citizens who are married (3) wait more than 21 years; and for Mexicans that period of time continues to be the same since 2000.
Brothers/Sisters of citizens (4), Hill wait more than 12 years, and if they are Mexican, more than 30 years.
Spouses of residents and minor children (2) will wait 5 years, and Mexicans will wait 8 more years.
Adult single children of residents (2a), will wait more than 15 years, except Mexicans who will wait 100 years, speeding up by only 5 months in the past 7 years.
Residences obtained by work permits are suspended until October. This doesn’t mean that you should wait to begin your application!
Your strategy depends on you. If your application for a resident or citizen family member is not decided or takes too much time, diversify your legalization with a job offer to obtain your legal status in approximately 5 years.
Remember that there is always more to analyze before forming a legal strategy.
